Review: TC Electronic Ditto LooperPedals At Dawn
If you’ve lost the manual to your looper pedal, chances are you’re not using it to its full potential. So what do you get when you take a looper and discard all the stuff you can never remember how to use? Enter the TC Electronic Ditto Looper.
By removing unnecessary layers of complexity, this super intuitive looper brings whats important to the forefront – looping. With 5 minutes of looping time, 24 bit uncompressed high quality audio, true bypass, undo/redo functions and unlimited overdubs – TC Electronic have squeezed all the looping essentials into one neat little package.
Due to the small footprint, there isn’t a battery compartment so a 9V adaptor is a must but not included. But don’t let its size and awesome paint job fool you, the designed-in Denmark Ditto retains the rugged but yet quality feel from TC Electronic’s other pedals. However, the USB and power inputs are a little too close together for ease of use.
So how does it work? As there is only one switch and one knob there isn’t a lot to learn. All looping functions are controlled by the footswitch as shown in the diagram.
If you’re after the bells and whistles, the Ditto Looper probably isn’t for you. But if you want a looper that’s simple to use and doesn’t take up a lot of space, the Ditto Looper is perfect for accompaniment while practicing those dreaded scales or creating a multilayered masterpiece from scratch.
This is a revolutionary looper that was designed by guitarists, for guitarists. And at this price, anyone who’s half thought about adding a looper to their stomp arsenal should absolutely try one out.
