Description

The same as the Trouble Booster, but with an added gain control.

What is it?
A germanium treble booster pedal with some unique modern features for unlocking many more great tones.

How does it sound?
The Trouble Booster XL has 2 settings. The Bright mode is inspired by the vintage Greg Fryer and Dallas Rangemaster treble boosters, capturing the classic Vox AC30 Top Boost and Brian May (Queen) sounds. The Normal mode provides a wealth of fatter overdriven tones inspired by Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), packed full of rich harmonics. The addition of a Gain pot unlocks a much wider palette of overdriven tones than ever before.

Unique features
Although we still use hand picked NOS germanium transistors, we use negative ground wiring so you can integrate the Trouble Booster XL into modern pedalboards. We also added a Gain control, turning the classic treble booster design into a far more flexible pedal with the ability to fine tune the amount of overdrive. It also features an invaluable Bright/Normal switch for toggling between the classic treble booster sound and a fuller, fatter tone.

Applications
This is the perfect tool for getting a huge range of low and medium gain vintage overdrive tones from one pedal.
